Retired after successful career as an accountant (specialty was forensic accounting), owned a computer sales and service company, MicroTouch, and Utahweb, an Internet service provider. I was in an auto/motorcycle accident in 1990 (yeah, I was the idiot on the motorcycle) and after 43 surgeries I am like the bionic man but without the energy.

The TSA have got tired of how long it takes me to go through the airport scanner.

School Story:

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City and attended Emerson Elementary, and then we moved to Malad Idaho when I was in the 6th grade. We moved back to Salt Lake after the 9th grade. I was supposed to go to East High but I wanted to go to South. My father, older sisters and a brother had gone to South and thats where I wanted to be. Jim Smith took me under his wing when he learned I was from Malad (thats where his grandmother lived) and I was blessed to find so many wonderful friends at South. It was as if I had finally got back home. I think the two years at South were the best in my life.

I enjoyed being in the school play and absolutely loved the entire South High experience.

At the end of our senior year, a few of us, yeah Jodie was there too, wanted to see the city lights from the Murray smoke stack. A couple guys got on the ladder before I did, but when I found a hole in the stair guard, I climbed through it and I got on top first. Cops showed up and rounded up all of the groupies. The couple of us that got to the top laid low until everyone else left and then we climbed down. We had such an "Illusion of Invincibility" when we were young. Mostly, we were just damn lucky to have survived our youth.

Foy A. Ernstsen, age 69 took flight November 13, 2021, in Salt Lake City. Born March 8, 1952, to Hyrum Alton and Della Shaw Ernstsen. Foy was a dedicated employee and servicemember with the former Western Airlines in Los Angeles, and later Delta Airlines in Salt Lake where in 2020 he retired after 38 years of service. Always a people person, he made lifelong friends in both cities. Foy will long be remembered for his contagious smile and irrepressible humor. He is survived by his sister, Janna Hansen, Ogden, Utah, many nieces and nephews and his grieving step family. Foy and Hilary Bertagnole were married, later divorced, but remained lifelong friends. Foy was a father figure to Hilary's three children, and a beloved grandfather, and great-grandfather.
