Oh Suzie, you are so nice.  Much of what you see is stuff I believe he was born with.  All we tried to do was keep him busy to kieep him out of trouble.

This is something we should all read at least once a week!!!!! Make sure you read to the end!!!!!!

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 42 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short – enjoy it..

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. Save for retirement starting with your first pay check.

9. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

10. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

11. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

12. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

13. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it...

14 Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

15. Get rid of anything that isn't useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways.

16. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

17. It's never too late to be happy. But it’s all up to you and no one else.

18. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

19. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

20. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

21. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

22. The most important sex organ is the brain.

23. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

24. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

25. Always choose life.

26. Forgive but don’t forget.

27. What other people think of you is none of your business.

28. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

29. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

30. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does..

31. Believe in miracles.

32. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

33. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

34. Your children get only one childhood.

35. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

36. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

37. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

38. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have not what you need.

39. The best is yet to come...

40. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

41. Yield.

42. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Its estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title '7%'.

I'm in the 7%. Friends are the family that we choose?

Life Lessons,

After my stroke of luck, I was driving to South City Campus one morning and listening to the radio  I usually change the station if someone starts giving a speech but, A man was saying how everyone has a MAGIC WORD and once, he found his, his whole life had changed.), It took me a few months to find mine, it's ENCHANTMENT.

After my discovery I realized how true this guy was. As I would go to work or walking around I looked for the ENCHANTMENT. I noticed the small blueish moth that, reminded me of camping at Smith Morehouse. Every morning this moth flew up from the same spot by my sidewalk, as if to tell me to have a good day. I noticed the miracles of nature, and how it is all put together. It is impossible to be bored here if you look  for the miracles and beauty around us. Well I'd better end this before I start sounding like a born again christian, (private joke not meant to hurt any of you who might be of that religion.)  This story has helped many I've talked to so, I thought I'd keep the cirque going, love y'all do something fun today you deserve it. glo

Gloria, I'm not in charge of the reunion. I'm one of many who happen to be working on making arrangements and planning the events. We are looking for suggestions, but the committee will decide. I'm not deciding anything but will be happy to present your ideas. Suger House park was a committee decision. The food, program and all events will be decided by committee. Put in your 2 cents, but not everything can be done nor can we please everyone. Just saying.....

Pres you might want to read this if it doesn't  end up back in the twilight zone again, Message forum is messing up. It has put some of todays posts back on march 28th. I'll send Press a message about it again tomorrow.

Gerd t.y. but my time zone is set on mountain isn't that where it's suppose to be?

Charlotte Warr (Andersen)

Gloria, when you're logged in there's a small white box on the right hand side of the page, right below the pic of South High. It gives you a choice whether you want to have the newest posts at the top or bottom (though I don't know why anyone would want to have them on the bottom. Sometimes the site seems to switch the setting on me for some reason. I don't know if that is what's going on with you but it's happened to me before and I find it confusing.

Gloria, go to your Edit Profile.  At the bottom of the page you can set your time zone.  See if it is set for your specific time zone.  That may help with the date/time issue.  If not, disregard my advice.  frown

Jerry Degraw, why are you on the list of people with bad email addresses yet I know you frequent the site?? Come down from whatever planet you're on today and change/update your email. Then, you will get group emails, etc. and Pres will quit asking us to find you!!!

Which version of this song do you like the best? I first heard the John Denver cover when I bought the album years ago. The song was written by John Prine and he was the first to preform it. Carly Simon did it next and then came the John Denver version. Bonnie Riatt loves to preform it. Even Dave Mathews and Ben Harper have covered it. I guess I'm used to hearing Denver sing it (even if he wasn't an old woman).

ok let's saee where the magic forum timemachine send my post today.

Char, I definetly remember cooking and sewing class. I was in cooking class with Judy Romero. Mrs. Fullmer asked me to help her, but she was the one that helped me.For a blind person she could see better than anyone I have ever known.

Weren't we lucky to have had those classes? I'm sorry they stopped having those.

And a great big  THANK YOU, to Wilma Duncan,  if she hadn't been so fast at putting zippers in a lot of us would never have passed sewing.wink

HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY EVERYONE. I had planned to send a message to all of my nieces and nephews, and my son and daughter that i had put those cute naked baby pictures of them on the internet, but I couldn't figure out how to send them all a message, oh well. maybe next year.

I had an up close and personal relationship with Mr. B at South.  If I wasn't his favorite cut up I wasn't far behind.  He did let me get away with smoking a cigarette in the school and even in his office.  I'll explain later.

I did run into him in the early 90s at the Public Safety building.  He remembered me and complimented me on changing my life and going on to college.

RIP

I didn't have but a few encounters with Mr. B and none of them were because I had misbehaved. But I knew his reputation as the enforcer. His obituary says that his favorite job was being Assistant Principal. Maybe he was the heavy at times but I think he must have loved being around teenagers and tried to help us all to be decent human beings.

Don't sell yourself short Chucky, keeping kids, especially teen-agers out of trouble is a miracle. After I had kids of my own, I use to call my mom daily to appologize for crap I pulled as a kid.
