Erlene, you are so right on the names of the PE teachers.  Somehow my brain could not even come up with a maybe name, so you must be better off than I am in pulling up the facts.  I would love to see you at the reunion.  Time is marching on so very fast and reconnecting to our youth just feels like a breath of fresh air!

My husband said he met Tom Job in Vietnam, perhaps 1972. Then later when he was working at the Kmart on Foothill Blvd. This was just out of the blue today - I wasn't talking about finding alumni. Anyone heard from him since?

Char;  if you're still looking for the Bosh twins they grew up next door to Kay Salazar.  Kay is still in touch with Cathy Bassett whom I beleive is registered on our site.

Hope this helps.

Patty,

I didn't go to the dinner - still not much of a socialite.  I enjoyed visiting with several people at the park, however.

Nope I'm pretty sure his name was Gary Eckles, Strange lil character with vampirish teeth. Last time i saw him he was in the marines. I went out on a date with him and insisted on being taken home.

For those who missed Paul Michelsen's post a while ago, here is a great song by the Traveling Wilburys, including George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison all together.  I don't know why Paul deleted it but I love this song and it is pretty appropriate for us old Cubbies.

Linda,  I know you went to the park and really felt sad that our schedule only allowed us the one day away from the harvestl  I am really hoping, like I said,  to catch up with you this year!

Tony, if that was a reply to my? should we send these missing names and ideas to you or pres? If we all compare ideas we might be able to track down more of these missing cubs.   But we will have to keep things from hurting people, so no gossip just facts and things we are sure are true to the best of our knowledge.  I'm pretty sure Jody Caroll, married Jerry Neve's brother so her last name may be Neve now.  Is their anyway you can look through the South High night school for alumni's? I know Mike Thomas had to drop out her Senior yr. because she was pg, she graduated from night school in 71. I knew other alumni that were from other yrs. that were taking high school credit courses to get their HS diploma so they could take college courses at South City campus. I'm thinking there are probably other's from our class, guys, and girls, If we  or you guys can  find away to search those records. maybe the Alumni Association could search for our missing. I had to take courses for so many hours every yr. so I was only one credit shy of my Associate degree in Childhood Development  I was working on the five yrs. I had the Royal Day Care. My point is. That my disability coucelor pulled up my records while I was back at South, and told me my grade for every college credit, and I had taken them at Granger High. If she could get those records there may be ways we can get them.

We still need the rest of the details for our 45th. 5 months for cubs out of state to schedule vacation time and all isn't all..... that easy. We need an updated list of missing still would help a bunch also. I'm going to get really brave and go try to pass the written test , so I can get my drivers License back, then I'll call the credit union and see how much they will lend me so I can start looking for a car. If I can get everything together, Pray for me, if I can get a car again, it will solve so many of my problems, and I will be able to help people instead of being Gloria the Royal pain in the butt. Oh how wonderful it will be to be needed instead of a burden to everyone.

Char,

The home economics picture reminds me of broiled grapefruit and bananas YUCK!! with Mrs Longley and Mrs. Urey (sp) in Jr. High.  Sewing was much more enjoyable and productive!

Patty, - If you want a real laugh, try explaining 'bumsplashers' to your grandchildren!

Here's another one by the Traveling Wilburys.  Does anyone know who Jeff Lynn is and why he was included with these other renowned recording artists?

Anyone who finds someone who is missing should send me their name, address, city, state and zip, phone # is good to get as well. I will get them in the alumni data base. Encourage them to sign up on this web site. We can then send them a reunion letter if they aren't on the web site. Also, they will start getting the scribe from the alumni association.

Also, for those who don't know yet we found/lost another of our missing cubs! I'm sorry to say that we discovered that Tristan Goff passed away back in 2001! :-(  Pres needs to update her profile.

Hi Tony

is there any TV or radio station that does like public service announcements?  It might help locate some of our former classmates.  Maybe. Studio Five on channel 5.   It's a possibility.

Hey Chuck, I saw the article about your son, Nate Salazar, In the Tribune this morning. He sounds like a very commendable person and a great candidate. If I lived in Salt Lake City proper I would vote for him.

Here's a link to the article:

Thank you Char.  The greatest compliment a person can receive is a compliment to his progeny.

Nate has had his eye on politics since to took him to city hall in 1997 to see my friend Lee Martinez sworn in to fill an unexpired term of another council person.

I've included a link to his website for all who may be interested.  At the same time please don't be shy about supporting him in any way you can.

Thank You!
