This cartoon reflects my feelings about the new year perfectly. The only good thing I remember from this year is our high school reunion. I'm looking forward to 2011 being a much better year.   Have a good one everyone!        Charlotte

Oh it is good to read the forum tonight ... I have been oh so busy and not even touched all the loose ends I meant to have caught up by now ... but nonetheless ... my best memory of the year was also the Reunion ... and seeing a few friends since the reunion ... and hope to see them all again soon.

I wish each and every one of you a HAPPY NEW YEAR and the best is yet to come for all of us ... of course there will be challenges Jerry ... but even with those, like you said ... we'll get by with a little help from our friends.

Well, back to the busy home life ... and I plan to catch this site again a little later ... so everyone get busy writing a line or two ... it is so fun to read what you all have to say, it adds a smile to my life.

Catherine

A HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you Cubbies!

Hopefully you're all out tripping the town.  A quiet one for me as I recover from Wednesday's 'other shoulder' repair...but a good one as I think of all of the wonderful memories behind me.  So many of my special memories, come from the years spent at South High with all of you!

Great times...great memories! ON SOUTH HIGH!!!

Maybe our next Reunion could start out with a Guiness record-breaking first-of-all-time -class-reunion- jump-from-outer-space; Count me IN !  (you know me and Space). Maybe we'll see JAWSAT floating by.  Happy New Year to You ALL !     Jumpin' Jerry

Hi ! I usually don't make these public, and this departure from my sick humor may cause of you to go balistic - sorry.  Happy Birthday, Suzanne Peel Felt ! I decided to do this as a result of reading Suzannes Profile. I make it a habit to re-read everyones' profile on thier Birthday - "lest I forget". Anyway, I am always totally amazed at some of the trials you Cub's have, and are, overcoming. I can only imagine how hard it would be, especially after a divorce, death, etc., to continue on. I read how Suzanne, working full time, continued to work on getting her degree (even 'tho it took 10 years), while taking good care of her Children - WOW ! Many of you have had similar, or other trials that have been (and still are) extremely hard. Hang in there - Keep Going - We love you !  Keep Smilin' !  Jerry

Just wanted to say hi to all of you and wish everyone a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope it will be a major improvement from 2010. Even though I don't get to the site as often as some of you, I do enjoy catching up now and then. I am looking forward to when each of our paths cross again, hopefully before our next reunion! Best wishes,  Tony D.

Thanks Tony;  I to do not get to the site often enough.  I miss the high school days and the feeling of family.

I look forward to getting together again, hopefully sooner than later and hopefully with all of you without losing any in the meantime.

My computer died and I have to pay to use this at kinko's, bummer Do any of my chubby cubby buddies know how to fix puters? I have 3 one needs a new power supply, and there's a chance one of my other pc's would fit. the biggest pc got a trojan virus and shut down tottally inspite of my firewall and anti v.d. programs, the 3rd is a big hard drive but keeps telling me my WIN INI file and PTSNOOP ARE MISSING. I know the floppy drive on it needs to be replaced also. If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it, I'm lost without my puter. Call me my # is on my profile.

I found Ken Prince a few days ago, he's going to check out this site as soon as he gets time.

All that computer talk reminds me of a cute poem I read a long time ago - particularly the last 5 or 6 verses.  I found it on the web and my daughter (because I'm computer illiterate) put the link on here.  It's fun. Check it out!      -- Linda

Not exactly a response but ... as it is a New Year,   a window into the future, of years to come..  What you gonna do for the next thirty-nine years, it’s plausible, my grandfather made it to 89, some of his children into their nineties, one of my uncles who passed this summer was 90. My own father and mother reached 84 give or take a few months. George Burns was 100 and still came to work regularly and was good for a case or two of Absolute every Christmas. Oh. They weren’t all for us grunts. I don’t recommend smoking a cigar everyday but it worked for him. You’ve got one life to live and one  bucket to kick you might as well make the best of it, it’s the only one you’re going to get, Maybe you’ll get to retire, I was fortunate enough to do that when I was 28, wait those years don’t count, I think it was 48, however if the economy continues the way it is I may have to give up some property or reverse that. You may want to travel. I’ve been on a number of cruises, and they’re fun sort of,   might go to south American and China, the wife wants to go to Europe.. I don’t have the interest.. you might write that book you’ve been trying to get too, everyone has a life story and few on top of that, might go back to school.. sounds like a bucket list, I don’t think I’ll be jumping out of any planes. But I might make it to Alaska, looks like Tony D found a pretty good fishing hole there. I won’t be backpacking at least not with my wife.. that ended the first year of marriage, one trip to some lakes 10 miles back in the Wind River Range did it for that.. I had to coax her every ten yards.. and between the sweat and tears we finally made it.. and I was carrying half her pack.  The fishing was great, beautiful 14 to 16 inch trout with finest fat pink meat you’ll ever come across… and I did let a lot of them go.  I guess there are a lot of things left to do and places left to go.. I say try and stay healthy, stay away from younger women, the girls can have all the younger men that they want… that’s what I tell my wife but she still pesters me..  plan a little bit and enjoy what’s to come.  Happy New Year and God Bless those that are living and those that have passed.

Torsten

So what kind of pets you all got, I’ve got a rabbit, Fang the 834th. So many generations I can’t keep track. He stands guard at the refrigerator.. lest someone opens it and drops something for him to eat? If that doesn’t happen he takes it upon himself ,  jumps right in and explores.   Terrible choice of pet, chewed up more computer cords, electrical cords, rugs, than he’s worth.  If I get to it I'll upload a photo of our "love child"  my wifes love child.. he's just another bowl of stew to me..

Linda, that poem is a 'bit' confusing - what a bite ! (er, I mean byte). Torsten, The Cruise ship thing  is great, but since u  r a retiree(unlike this Old working Dog), try this; Take a couple of Waverunners and unload them on the Colorado, just below the Dam in Laughlin, then have a Riot going down-river to The London Bridge at Lake Havasu - what a hoot (temps. got to 130 degrees, however). Coming back up-river is even more interesting, especially trying to load them back on the trailer. Glo, I have a spare laptop you can have, but it needs a wireless lan card if use wireless internet (like Digis etc.).  J Dog D

Way different shape and nothing to hold you on the board.  I don't understand how they stay with the board...but he sure has a great time with it.  He hasn't slowed down at bit at 35, as a matter of fact he seems to push it further.

He's out in the back country first snow of the season, long before the resorts open...and was still going the first part of June last year.  I kind of got a kick out of this video.   He was pretty outwardly enthusiastic in it...not usual for him to talk that much. He made it for some contest and won a Heli-jump with it.  (He wins a lot of video contests with his videotography, but doesn't usually talk in them) So more of the back, back country for him from a helicopter...always kind of scary for mom.

Jerry you got me man. you're right on top of things. I think when you caught crabs up in alaska it really sharpened you up. Do you think it changed you somehow? I do! Or could it have been the medication so you didn't wander around scratching the irratations? You never did let me in on the "parking in Alaska" thing that was somehow connected to the crabs incident.

I 'm sorry everyone, I didn't update my profile except to remove the birthdate. I'm alittle slow at some things but I read where a person shouldn't post a BD online and I realized the other day I should take it off, so I did.

Bea I'm sorry you got caught up in the plot. You seem to have thought the update date was my Birthday. I didn't mention it in the thank you email I sent you because I liked it anyway that you would be so thoughtfull. almost any kind of notice from a woman is welcome at my age.

I'm going to go check and see exactly what my profile says about dates to be sure.

Happy New Year everyone, I wish you the best!

Oh Jerry, it may be clearing up for me alittle already. didn't you say it was a spritual experience also?

Was it Tequlia, Vodka or something like that ? Those are good spirits.

And by the way, thanks for the sarcastic email you sent me!, I needed a nudge like that.

Rosanne, sounds like u r way busy, but don't b so 'thread'bare that we lose track of u altogether ! Paul, u may bring out the 'Cowboy' in me after all, b4 I kick the bucket (soon) with your latest Forum offerings ( speaking of kicking the bucket - did anyone else happen 2 watch '...Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World' the other night ? or am I the last person on Planet Earth who still watches 'air' TV only ?). It's a GREAT movie, and the Title describes me perfectly ! Gloria, the computer is still available. And Jim, wow, you really caught my attention ! I'm gunna have 2 go back and review what I sent b4 ( 2 c if I was in my right mind ) [wait a minute, I don't even have a right mind], and then respond back. Y'all keep smilin', now, ya here ?   Silver Fox DeGraw
