Dear cubs, I made a statement to a couple of contributors regarding labelling. I think sharing our opinions is important, more now than ever, since there is an abundance of disrespect for people with ideas that may be unpopular to others. We are all Americans with goals and desires and thankfully, opinions. The reason for my previous comment was that we should respect for each others with out assigning names. Each person that takes the time to be on the site deserves that. I really don't care if political statements are made or not. We still have the ability to just not read what we don't want to. Moving forward, let's just hope and pray( for those of tus that do,) that we can actually have the 50+ reunion this coming summer.

Thanks, Jim.  You are right.  My sincere apologies.  I do have a greater respect for the truth.  It has become a habit, in today's world, to repeat anything and everything some one hears as if it is the Truth.  That isn't "opinion", it is nonsense.  Without rebuttal, these unsubstantiated concoctions become accepted as truth.  Old wive's tales never die, no matter how often you prove them wrong. Yes, we can turn a blind eye to this nonsense, but if we know better, doesn't that make us accomplices to the lie?  I miss the good old days when there was a degree of "political correctness" so those with the nonsense would keep it to themselves.  Being condescending is a bad habit I have.  It is my only way to counter the nonsense.  In the future, I will keep it to myself.

This may only be meaningful to a group of guys that grew up around municipal park.  David Disorbio passed away.   I do not have any information other than he has passed.   For those of you that knew Dave I thought you would like to know if did not know.  I have lots of memories of Dave his help with baseball and the jokes and peaks he would pull like turning on the sprinklers while we were sleeping out at muni.   He was a good man.

Thanks for the update Allen.  I knew a couple of the Disorbios and not sure it's the same family but one of the fellows coached at the U for a time.  His older brother spent some time at Judge Memorial in a similar capacity and I worked with one of the wives at KSL.

Speaking of KSL I would like to segway after what Ken said.  We were trained to listen to the truth and hold the speaker's hand to the fire.  I generally don't have a problem with the truth but I do struggle with unfounded opinion.  Seems we've had a good bit of opinion here and some that was totally unfounded.  Yes Jim, now that I know what I can say I will offer my facts on an issue if it is warranted.

As an aside I would like to take a moment to focus on the Salt Lake City School Board.  For the first time in history we have a minority majority on the board.  It seems appropriate as the district is now minority majority meaning there are more minority students in the district that Anglo.  The disparity remains in that more of the students live on the west side but the east side gets half for the funding for fewer students.

Meantime the Board has offered the Superintendent job to an African American, a first in Salt Lake.

I want to applaud my son Nate for keeping a cool head as Vice President of the board through all the recent upheaval.  You may have seen him on TV.

I'm not sure if a couple of the recent comments about nonsense was directed at my comments about China and their past and current genocides but incase they were, I just wanted to post a current CNN, which I'm surprised would post any truth, report. I'm not sure I'm posting the image correctly, but at least here is the headline. Pretty sad that we can't stop this kind of stuff today. Maybe tomorrow?

Richard, I wonder when the US will label the atrocities as genocide.  It's pretty obvious if you read any of the reporting coming out of China.  But then again we don't want to alienate China.  Bad for business (NBA, Wall Street, politics, etc).

Here's onetrain of th ought:  "President Biden is dismissing the genocide against the Uighur population in China, dubbing the mass internment a “different norm” — despite the State Department this month responding to attrocities in the camps, following reports of systemic rape and torture.

Is this one of those ocassions of 'uninformed opinion'?  But facts are stubborn.

Just a dumb ol' Country Boy, but I NEVER thought I would see the day When China would be Our WORST Enemy, ahead of Russia, The Middle East (9-11,JIHAD), Germany & Japan (pEARL hARBOR ETC,long ago), England (also long ago) and the list goes on...However, as hard-to-believe, as our collective minds can imagine, The ENEMY Within may be as bad, but actually MUCH worse than the Country that gifted Us COVID-19. Sorry (not) but true...Please Let's not argue about this, as We are ALL America, and NO MATTER who Our enemies are, Let's concentrate on being THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

It's hard to understand how so many, or is it really that many, that plea a support of the China CCP. The Internet is full of stories of families telling how their family members were actually put in body bags, zipped closed, and hauled away while they were still alive. Others report that the body bags actually were just thrown into incinerators. The CCP report that there were very few Covid 19 deaths but the cell phone providers report that many many thousands of cell phones are no longer in service. The doctor that first reported the Covid in China is still missing and Chinese citizens just celebrated the year anniversary of his disappearance.

Jerry, you got to quit degrading yourself with these negative descriptions and comments. It's voices that call foul throughout human history that eventually help to bring about change. We are all connected at a spiritual level so any truth spoken or not still has an impact on the human evolution as a whole. We are entering into a higher level, the beginning of the 4th density and there is going to be a significant separation of those in negativity and those in positivity. The world is going to be split like the atom is or as our cells did when we began to develop as embryos and those that stay in negativity or are still hung up on the past will stay on the old earth and have to go through another cycle of about 80,000 years from minerals, rocks and such to plants, trees, animals and then into a human body again. Those who are aware of this split will simply go with the new earth and onto another level of experience.

Everything I've summarized above can be easy proven with a little effort and research, unless it's just too much work and easier to judge and dismiss it. I'm hopeful that the sages and especially the Hopi indians and others are correct because I'm done with 3d, I hope.

Allen Gehrke, I did know the Disorbio brothers to be some of the friendliest guys I'd ever met, although I met them some years apart.  I met Dave in the 70s.  I don't remember if he was coaching there yet or an alumnus supporting the team.  I was following Randy Gomez, the QB and Pitcher for the utes in the mid-70s.

I met his older brother years later when my daughter was in high school but I don't remember what he was coaching.  I think he was the men's volleyball coach and helped out with football.

Both of these guys loved to laugh and seemed to wear a constant smile.

Colleen, You are very kind:-) Richard, You are very correct - I see why some of Our good-thinking Cubbies are a bit reluctant to believe just how Dangerous a threat China is...after all, even on 'Mash' the saying 'Better dead than Red' was used, and SO many more, but We weren't really affected, as a Country, even tho' EXTREME atrocities were being committed for SO long. Nowadays, however, We are in Their 'Bullseye' for Many reasons. I really am not guiltless, I'm ashamed to admit, as I have initiated hundreds of orders to China, I suppose hoping to help some of the poor merchants, but not wanting to support the ABSOLUTE Tyrannical,  EVIL Communist Government - I know, I'm probably a GREAT Fool for believing that, just because I want a good deal :-( 

  Now, I will credit Ken for pegging Me as He did...Several Years ago, I turned into a complete A-- H---, buying up as many properties as I could aquire, MANY from My Very Good Friend and Fellow Cub, Lon Schow, along with an Auto Dealership and other businesses. Yes, I REALLY got too big for My britches, especially having grown up I very humble circumstances ( where Cummins Diesel now stands on Third West and 1038 So ). This pic, sadly, depicts My awful attitude...just before I lost a FORTUNE, putting Me in My place where I'm trying to stay...So...sorry...Ken and Others are MORE than welcome to help Me in that matter, and I Truly appreciate that:-)

 PS - Just for fun, does ANYONE still remember the 'Red Front' store on State and 17th? Do You think that name had any particular meaning? ( I read a Deseret News article, once, which addressed that very question:-)

Everything we have been taught is wrong, we know very little about how many entities and dramas have taken place here. We have been fraudulently taught that there has only been 6,000 years since Adam til now, but we are beginning to discover, that is just rubbish. Those who have controled mankind have intentionally hidden the truth so we wouldn't learn who we really are and they did that by kepping us poor, uneducated and constantly working to survive so we didn't have time to explore and learn the truth. That is now changing and our generation is one of the first that is finding, on the most part, that we can retire, have money and time to explore and learn the truth. Here is one of those truths and I hope to provide more such info as time goes on. Hope most will enjoy what I post and hopefully many will do the same.

My dear Dale, your opinion is, and always was appreciated by me. Regardless of which side of an idea I feel more comfortable with, I always want to know all sides. My concern, however, remains that there is to much division in the posts. I called it labelling, like the words Anglo, African American, minority/majority. Way to many tags, how about just refering to everyone as people. The more we specify difference, the less we become close to each other. Anglo is a great example, I don't think I am a minority/majority, since I am predominantly of Greek descent. But I also don't consider myself Anglo, whatever that is. I'd rather not have a label.

Oh, SO sorry, My Good Friend...for the first time I must disagree, If I'm allowed...We are now in the 7th THOUSAND years since Adam and Eve, according to Man's reckoning of Time...it's off, just a bit, tho'...The True 7th Thousand years is known as 'The Millenium', where there will be NO physical suffering, no sorrow, hunger, disease, and other such things that have plagued Man (and Women, Beast, etc) since the beginning of Time. PEACE, which SO Many have been wishing and praying for, during these 6,000 years (Hippies, sign-holding Folks in the streets EVERYWHERE, a VERY high percentage of ANYONE who has been asked the age-old question "What do You wish for"?), WILL abide for ALL living in that 7th period of Time. Well, enough preaching (WAY too much for Most), and I probably have misunderstood what You were actually trying to convey, in My OLD Age, Richard, so I now Don My dirty old Country clothes and get the H out of Everyone's hair :-)

PS - PLEASE, don't ANYONE leave this Joyful site, because of Me ( tho' I wouldn't blame You), RATHER, start a referendum to get Me out-o'-Dodge ( or any ONE of You just simply tell Me to "Go to Hell' ) It's a LITTLE too soon for Me to go there, but getting VERY close...but I WILL promise to limit My words to the 'Normal talk-of-the-Day, if that's what Y'all want :-) 

   PS - 2 I really liked the video, Richard, especially the beginning with the good music and when He mentions that He, like Myself, LOVES All animals and Life. Now, may I just say that there is NOTHING contradictory to what He portrayed and Christianity...those Who are True Christians surely believe, and not just in a metaphorical way, the story of David and Goliath, as We are taught that there were, indeed,  'Giants in the Land'. If giants, why not Pygmies, after all, Some of Our great actors, teachers, and others, were Little Folk.
