Don't let Jeff fool you all. He is the culprit. If you look at most of his pictures someone has drawn these two little devil horns on his head. I remember as if it happen yesterday. The announcement was made for all members of the Philosophy Club to please report to Mr. Wood's room after school to take pictures. I didn't even know we had a Philosopher Club. Matter of fact I'm still not sure what we fellow Philosopher Club members do?  Jeff glab me and told me to put on some funky looking sun glasses and to look smart. (which was as most of you know was a difficult thing to do) I am still amazed I was allowed to graduate.  And it was Pres who pushed us to get into the soccer club picture. i think he thought he should of played soccer instead of Track. I think he knew then he was going to Germany on his mission. Where he wrote "they have no clue over here. They call this game kicking a ball with their feet football. How Dumb"!!

By the way Charlotte, You were a good sport about the whole thing. Let me know who to send the donations to. I think it is a great idea!!

Hey everyone, I still check in occasionally. I've been traveling alot for work. I'm just about finished with a two weeker in Atlanta. I'll be home for a week then back for 2 more weeks in Atl. I'm training a new sales person.

Gloria, I'd like to do a get together as you mentioned. maybe when things slow down some. Keep trying I think this whole reconnection thats been started is good! Charlotte, Bill Mahr is struggling for substance. But thats just my perception.

I've really let up on Jerry, thinking I was picking on him too much. It was just soooo easy! Jerry you coming Baaaaacckkkk? or are you pissed off?  (pun intended)  You in Alaska trying to get Crabs again?           I'm sure Buzz is really busy getting his hot tub ready for the cold weather. That trolling motor must do damage to the sides of that above ground Kmart swimming pool. I'm still waiting for an invite by the way Buzz. I have half a bottle of MD 20/20 and some frozen venison steaks. Not the Fawn you were licking your chops over.     And I think Buck is laying low after that situation in the room he and Jody were changing in after the Blues Bro entertainment. Ya know, when Jody yelled "don't touch me there" We're over it Buck. I enjoyed the skit.

I checked in because Colleen Strand asked for a copy of the Glendale pic's. So there are lots of classmates looking in here.

I enjoyed Koji's recollections and report on the circumstances relating to our senior yearbook photo escapades.  What's life if not to have a little fun!!  However I stand by my assertion he "made me do it!!" (the Devil, Koji - what's the difference!!)

Well Jeff ... I have a slight interest in knowing about the "what's the difference" and the devil made me do it!!!  There's got to be more fun and stories behind that one ... and please don't say "I know nothing" and Koji ... he's got tons of spunk and stories ... so let's get this one rolling!! oh, and Charlotte, just how did you put up with those two (three or four) and where is Jerry??? I haven't heard from him for a while now... and like Jim said ... does Buzz have that hot tub ready?AND Gloria ... I don't yet know when I am getting down that way ... but the coffee shop or Dee's sounds great ...     :) Cath

HERE'S A BETTER IDEA. How about we have a coffee break the first saturday night of each month? Say from 6:00 p.m. till whenever. If anyone shows up cool if no one shows up that's cool too. If anyone from out of town is coming home let us know and we'll meet in the cafeteria at South. If anyone is interested please let me know.

Maybe if I drop Miss Goody Two Shoes Jerry will make his presence known again. OK time to liven things up - here's some geezer humor for you:

An 85-year-old man was requested by his doctor for a sperm count as part of his physical exam.

The doctor gave the man a jar and said, "Take this jar home and bring back a semen sample tomorrow."

The next day the 85-year-old man reappeared at the doctor's office  and gave him the jar, which was as clean and empty as on the previous  day.

The doctor asked what happened and the man explained: "Well, doc, it's like this - first I tried with my right hand, but nothing.

Then I tried with my left hand, but still nothing. Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her right hand, then with her left, still nothing.

She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with her teeth out, still nothing.

We even called up Arleen, the lady next door and she tried too, first with  both hands, then an armpit, and she even tried squeezin' it between her  knees, but still nothing.

The doctor was shocked! "You asked your neighbor?"

The old man replied, "Yep. None of us could get the jar open."

Don't cry Buzz! Just laugh at what we've become. We were all paranoid teen-agers then. But now we've become old Buzzards and perverted old ladies

Thank god we weren't this friendly when we were teen-agers. With all the hugging that went on at the reunion................and all the hormones that were raging back then. We're all to old to have hormones now though.  Fortunately we don't need them anymore. But then there are so many fun toys and drugs out there now.

We have alot to be proud of, our generation. All we have seen and done. If you ever look at the stars and feel insignificant stop and think what one person can do. Like president Kennedy, Neil Armstrong, Mother Theresa, Steven Hawkings. and unfortunately, Adolph Hitler, and Sudam Huesain.

Ok Charlotte that's a good joke, I'm not sure about you loosing the goody 2 shoes rep yet though.......... Do you know why God invented Men?...........................................................................................................

Vibrators can't take out the garbage.

Charlotte Warr (Andersen)

I've been busy sewing this afternoon - nothing that required huge concentration so I decided I needed music, something calming supposedly. So I popped in my Simon & Garfunkel compilation CD. I found myself listening to the lyrics of some of their lesser known songs. Instead of being soothing I found myself alarmed at some that actually talked about nuclear war and the killing of ladies. I loved this duo so much in high school. Our senior yearbook is actually themed after one of their songs - Leaves That Are Green - and yes, it's a pretty depressing song too. So it all got me thinking about high school again.

I think I liked being melancholic back in high school (remember melancholy and mellow both start with the same sylable - my own personal take on the word). I'd spend lots of time up in my attic room thinking that it was kind of a romantic state, reading poetry, listening to S&G, Bob Dylan and others, thinking about all the cute guys at school who never asked me out, feeling like Emily Dickinson. Then I'd leave the melancholy at home and go to school and be happy and cheerful.

Listening to Simon & Garfunkel doesn't feel quite the same now. I like their later works, I think, when they weren't so idealogical and young and had more of a sense of humor. I don't really think I can acheive that true melancholy state any more. Listening to them just made me sad and depressed today. So I think I'll go put on some Audioslave, yeah that should cheer me up. Feelin' Groovy (not), Charlotte

Charlotte-

I find that with much of 'our music', it's best not to really listen to the words.  I swear they didn't mean then what the mean now.  My grown kids give me a bad time quite often abou the "lyrics of the music of your time."

However, I enjoy the memories those songs invoke, and do love to listen to much of the same music now as I did then.  I truly loved my years at South High.  I often think I'd go back to that time again (that is if when I came back to now again, my kids would still be all raised)  So many great times and great memories.  What fun to be able to again, hear from and about my fellow Cubs.

For some reason I only managed to take 2 pictures at the reunion both with the same people in them. Here's the better of the two. Where are you Neon Peon?

I appreciate the picture.  It's a good one, but as I apologize to those in it, Charlotte, how about some names?

Well I can help with a few, I believe that would be Ray Alt on the far left ... Bob Post I think on the far right and then Jerry DeGraw in the back with the helmet on ... and I apologize for not remembering the remainder of our crew ... but it was a fun afternoon/evening :)  It would sure be nice to hear from everyone ... love this message forum ... great entertainment and meeting place particularly when I live such a distance away from all of you!

Candida Bettinson (Jensen)

Ray Alt,  _____?______, Julie Wickham,  Keith Majors?, Curt Shelton all in the front with Jerry DeGraw in the back.    I think that is right, but why can't I remember who is next to Ray? I must be getting old!

Candida is right about everybody. I couldn't remember Keith. I don't know the last person either. I am out traveling but when I get home to my desktop tonight where the picture lives I'll zoom in on her nametag.  Charlotte

OK, The blonde woman in the photo is Pat Hamilton Schweinin.

Dang! I hope I didn't make that sound too impersonal. I didn't get to chat with you at the reunion, Pat.  Charlotte

Candida Bettinson (Jensen)

I didn't get to chat with Pat at the social either, and I should have recognized her, because she really hasn't changed much from high school.

Jerry...are you still out there somewhere???

Thanks so much!  The reunion was so much fun and I enjoyed visiting with so many great people.  I appreciate those of you who have better recollection and recognition skills than I and were able to identify those in the picture for me (and hopefully, others as well).

Some of us have been together way more than 40 years! That last photo is of some of us who went to Jefferson Elementary School together. How cool is that! Thanks Charlotte for posting it.

OK, since Halloween is almost here I'm going to get into hag mode and bitch. Why is there very little in the way of posts lately? How do you expect to keep this site active for the 6 and whatever years Preston has paid for if no one ever comments about anything? I guess I don't have much excitement in my life but I check this site at least once a day and I'm so disappointed when there's nothing new on the message forum. Are you going to let all that enthusiasm we had die after only a couple of months? I got desperate and phoned Jerry DeGraw's house just now to see if something's the matter with him. No answer - maybe he's out deer hunting or something. If you've just been reading, how about posting something? If you get me frustrated enough I may start posting some of the bad poetry I wrote in high school!
