Sorry Patti, there must have been a reason?

If anyone wants copies sent just email me your address. This has been an amazing journey and totally fun.

Mike, all the best to you and your family, Jim

Great pictures, Jim. Again, I went to Irving Jr. and I don't remember having a yearbook - at least I can't find one now.

Hey Jeff! You're only in one of those pictures. How come?

Charlotte

Jim,

Thanks for posting those pictures from Glendale Jr. High. Wow... That brought back a lot of good memories! I don't know what ever happened to mine, but it's been gone for many years. I do remember when I brought my copy home my Mom was not was not too happy with me, though. I had taken a magic marker and written the words "GLENDALE PRISON" across the front cover of it... I guess the rebellious years were starting to kick in - too much time reading 'MAD' magazine. Those were some of the best years of our lives.

Great pics Jim!  Really fun to look through and see all you youngins.

Your right Charlotte, Irving did not have any yearbook.  (Nor did my elementary do any photos) Really sad now that I think about it and see Jim's.

Jim - Yep!  There I was -- front and center!  Thanks so much for the fun memories.  Glendale was a great school where a lot of good things happened.  I had to dig out my yearbook and look through it again after I cleaned off the MILES of dust.  In many ways, it seems like just yesterday.  Sigh ... (Danny Camomile, who is seated on my right, passed away several years ago.)  --Linda

Jim,  I can't believe I was ever that young.  My grandson thinks I look better now.  How little they know.  So many old friends in that room 21.  Thanks for the reminder of a great time.  Hope all is well with you.

Hey Charlotte,

I was only in one picture in Jr. High because I was a good boy then.  At that young and tender time in my life, I hadn't met nor been corrupted by Koji.  Our sneaking in to all those pictures in our senior yearbook was all Koji's idea!!  Honest!! HE MADE ME DO IT!!  (I'm so ashamed . . .)

Hey Stormy, (is it alright to still call you that?)   I remember meeting you in the 7th grade  when I checked in Glendale in December. Jr High was fun. Good to hear from you.

Hi Jimmy,

I don't mind being called Stormy.  Not many people around that remember that nick name.  Thanks for posting the picture.  Nice to remember when I was soo young.  My oldest grandson is older then we were then.  He is just learning to drive.   Man, that really makes me feel old.  Hope all is going great with you.  Nice to hear from old friends.

Hey Everybody . . .

I don't know if you saw this article "Return of the Class of 1980"  in Sunday's PARADE Magazine, but it's definately worth a read.   Although the author is 10 years our junior, in my view his observations and sentiments are "spot on" with respect to my feelings following our reunion last month.

Here's the link:

Enjoy!!

Jeff ... what was it Koji made you do???  I understand the part about him corrupting you ... but exactly ... can you tell us was he best at talking you into doing?  Just some curiousity going here. Was it just sneaking into pictures ???  He seems creative and probably up to a bit more than that!

Charlotte Warr (Andersen)

Hey Cathy! Jeff can answer too but maybe it's a bit of an inside joke unless you were really paying attention. Koji, Jeff and Preston made it their mission to sneak into every yearbook photograph they could. One might get the impression from the photographs that they were in all sorts of clubs and organizations. They didn't actually belong to quite a few of them - they just showed up for the pictures. Jeff is even pictured in the school choir twice. As yearbook editor I even made a comment on my editor's page toward the end of the book about this phenomenon. So when Jim posted his pictures and Jeff was only in one of them I had to ask him "How come?" Charlotte

Great article in the Sunday newspaper Parade magazine.  I like the part about no more cliques!

Highschool was so full of cliques.  Now we have a little more time to take an interest in each other and show our respect , love and concern.  This all comes from growing up and jumping all the hurdles of life.  Some good,  some bad, some hurtful and some we really do not want to discuss.

No one holds a grudge and no more of that petty _ _! Oops pardon me.

Anyway how nice it is to laugh again and sometimes even cry a little.  Hopefully smiles are more and sorrows are few.

Forever 18!

Hugs!

Marian

Hi Jeff, Thanks so much for the dvd, I got a chance to watch it today. I really enjoyed it. I would also like to send my condolences to Mike and his family at this difficult time.

I want to thank all those who wished me a happy birthday.  I guess I'm about the olderst fart in our class.  My buddy, Preston, took me golfing at Thanksgiving Point yesterday and what a gorgeous day it was!

Also, I think we all owe Jeff Chivers a big thank you for the DVDs of the reunion.  We didn't have enough money left in the fund to reimburse him and keep the Web site up for another few years as well so he kindly decided to make it a gift to everyone that received it.

Charlotte Warr (Andersen)

Here's an idea. Why don't we make it so we're still able to make donations to the fund for those of us who are willing and able to donate, strictly voluntary. It doesn't even need to be a big amount - $3, $5? - something that Paypal won't take too much out of in their fees. Then perhaps we could build a small bank account, reimburse Jeff, have some money for a summer picnic, and, if it grew large enough, we could turn some over to South High Alumni's Scholarship Fund from the Class of '70.

That's a great idea, Charlotte!  Maybe there is there a way to donate without Paypal involved, so that we don't loose anything to them?  Jeff did such a great job getting them out, and the postage itself had to be quite the number.

Hey Everyone:

I appreciate the thought but please don't worry about reimbursing me for the DVD's and mailing.  It's been my pleasure, and my payment has been hearing from those who enjoyed receiving them.  There have been a few who've sent me a little $ to help cover my cost in getting them out, which was greatly appreciated but certainly not expected.

By the way, if there's anyone who hasn't received the 2nd DVD I put together with nearly 200 photos I took at the three reunion events set to music from our era, let me know and I'll be happy to send you one (include your mailing address).

I do think a "Class of 1970 Bank Account" is a good idea, and if we can figure a way to set it up and safely contribute (I.E. PayPal) that would be great.  Bart could be the "keeper of the cash."

Jeff

I think the idea for an alumni account is fantastic. I would even pitch in a couple dollars when I can. Would it be better to have an account with a credit union so it would acrue intrest?

Would anyone be interested in meeting at Dees on Redwood Rd. and 47th south on Sat. Oct16? No big deal just thought it would be fun for us to all go out for coffee and to sit and talk. Let me know if you're interested please.

It's good to hear from you Gloria - it's been awhile. I can't commit to the 16th right now (too far away) but will let you know later.

This board has been kind of inactive lately. Where's Jerry? Where's Jim? Where's Buzz and all the rest of you? I was watching Bill Maher, Real Time tonight and he made some snarky comment about getting together with 30 friends from high school that you couldn't give a s--- about. It made me think of this forum and I want you to know I do care. Get typing!

Charlotte, thank you for noticing.

My Julia left me a month ago and moved in with the guy she is marrying.... he's on soc. sec. for mental dis. and living with his mom. They are getting married on the 6th, this wed. I am compleatly against this marriage but she has informed me she is 30 and will do what she wants. All I can do is hope for the best. Julie left me with a real mess but I'm having a yucky reception for her that is more than I can afford or handle right now.

So I've suddenly become a div. handicapped old lady with empty nest syndrome on top of my suicidal chronic deppression. Yippee aint life fun! Anyway after I get the reception over on the 9th I'm going to try to pull myself up my my bootstraps once again and but my condo and life back in order. Then I'm going to dive back into my career as an author. I can use all the friends and caring I can get to keep me out of the swamp of depression, but I'm a tough old broad I'll make it. My phone number is all over this site. please call me anytime, don't worry about waking me. I sleep way to much anyway. I still come to this site daily and will start putting my 2 cents worth again after all the excitment calms down.

I have alot of excitment in my life, I use to call it stress but I feel much better now that I call it excitment.
