Deeann it sounds like you were on the northwest corner of the park where the shooting occurred years later. I think I finally understand. And yes if you went up and over that curb, then the pucker factor in the back seat would have been over a 10

I think Mr. Smith's first name was Cy.  I remember driving up State Street and he always yelled at us for being in the intersection when the light turned yellow.  I never could understand that one.  I guess he wanted us to stop or speed through before it turned yellow.  I think he helped coach the Sophomore football team and he was just as ornery.

Deeann Loveridge (Reynolds)

Richard, you are correct about the place at the park.  I forgot about that shooting, it was so very sad in so many respects.  Were yoh involved in investigating it?  I grew up 2 blocks west of Liberty Park so I have many memories of the park, both good and bad.

Most of you seemed to have had Mr. Smith, I had Mr. Magelby.

Disclaimer, thanks to Mr. Magelby and his use of the brake pedal on his side, we did not jump the curb but it was so close.

Char, love the picture, the statement is so true!

Jerry, what is that language you speak?

I've been thinking about the State Street drags on the weekends; Saturdays for sure, and how S-L-O-W everyone drove. Then how they put a stop to it. But wile we were in school, it was still very much a hot item. Was aanybody involved to the point that you rarely missed a weekend? I never went. I got caught in it going h9ome from work sometimes but that was it. I'd take aa left ASAP to get off the main drag. I thi nk you had to have a cool car to do that. Michelsen had one. Paul, were you on State Street every now and then? Never missed a Saturday? Ever take the purple plum?

Who had the coolest car at South High School during our time there? That red '55 Chevy had to be in the running. It had everything, includung headers so it sounded hot, and that usually indicates he went through the entire engine. Not sure who he was, but he was 1-2 years ahead of us.

I don't remember any other good looking cars. Pauls little brother, Mark had a red Ford, like a '52 or so??? but it was after I left.Who else had a nice car? And ws that the reason you girls wanted  date with him? Whoever he was?

Do you remember the intense revivalry between West and South? I believe the West students and/or alumni attended a football game and really roughed up a few SHS Cubs, or their parents or friends. Anyone remember the particulars about that one?

AND.........what was the name of the Assistant Principal (I think) that everyone had such negative experiences with? Was it Mr Blackhurst? Everyone hated him and had at least one bad experience with him. And then there's me. because he wore a bow tie, and I wanted to learn how to tie one, and my older sister was 2 years older than me, She asked him if he'd teach me to tie a bow tie. He agreed so I bought a couple of those long bow ties that go around your neck (one was brown with white polkadots) and took them to school, then during my lunch, I'd eat real fast, then run up to his office and he'd teach me how to tie it. We'd spend 25-30 minutes on bowties and FINALLY, I learned how. I can still tie them, but it's not as quick and easy as it was. It ain't easy. Final word: I really liked the guy. He never bothered me.

Hi, I was a Glendale girl.  I was and still am pretty quiet, didn't know too many people.  My friends were Robyn Norris and Debbie Riley.  We weren't in the cool crowd.  I currently work with Viola Chivera.  She goes by Vi Moore.  I'm trying to talk her into going to the South High Patio gathering.  She is wavering.  :)  Maybe we will make it.

Here's my guess, Jerry - do you have split personalities since you used several different languages?:

The Three Faces of Eve is a 1957 American CinemaScope film adaptation based on a book by psychiatrists Corbett H. Thigpen and Hervey M. Cleckley, who also helped write the screenplay. It was based on their case of Chris Costner Sizemore, also known as Eve White, a woman they suggested might suffer from dissociative identity disorder.

Yvonne Bonzo Was one of those girls who, as far as I remember, was always smiling. Sometimes I wondered what she knew that I didn't. Sometimes I thought perhaps my hair was sticking straight up or my fly was open and that's why she was smiling. Eventually I came to the conclusion that she was simply a happy person. Do I remember her also going to Irving Junior High School? Her high school photo is in my mind without looking it up. I'm sure I had more than a few classes with her but I can't recall anything specific.

I spoke with Steve Zumwalt recently and he mentioned the number of deaths in our class and thought it was higher than it should be. I wish I could attend all the funerals of my fellow classmates but I'd settle for copies of all the obits. I don;t suppose anyone has been keeping track of them all?

I got tricked into scanning all our family photos, journals, documents, and all the rest and did everything from my mother's and father's families. It's too bad we haven't kept all the obits organized and in a row. They'd be nice to read from time to time. I go through all those of our family from time to time.

Here is Yvonne's funeral notice:

Tanis Yvonne Eisenmann

Obituary  Condolences

Tanis Yvonne Eisenmann Obituary

West Jordan, UT-Tanis "Yvonne" Bonzo-Coggle Eisenmann passed away, unexpectedly, July 02, 2015 after

a short but devastating illness. Yvonne was born January 15, 1952 to Georgia Lamir Bybee and Theron

Reese Bonzo. Her parents later divorced and Georgia married Vernon Leonard Coggle who adopted Yvonne

and became her "forever" father. She was blessed to have six sisters and three brothers whom she adored.

She lived most of her youth in the Sugarhouse area and graduated from South High School. Shortly

thereafter she met and married the man of her dreams, Richard (Dick) Eisenmann, who was serving in the

US Navy. After the service, they moved to his home state of New York where they lived for six years before

moving back to Utah to raise their family. They had two daughters; Melanie and Brianna, and one son; D.J.,

and opened their hearts and home to others, even helping to raise their niece's Michelle and Robyn and

nephew Jason for a time. She spent most of her adult life doing clerical work for various companies,

including Heritage Bennion Care Center, Midvale Police Department and was currently employed as an

evidence technician for The Unified Police department serving the Greater Salt Lake Area. Yvonne was a

member of the LDS church and thoroughly enjoyed working in the primary when she was younger. Although

she was not active for many years, she ALWAYS maintained a strong testimony of her Heavenly Father and

shared her sweet spirit with all those who knew her. Aside from her husband and children, the light of

Yvonne's life were her grandchildren! They were never without an armful of hugs, a face full of kisses, a U-

Haul of Christmas gifts, and a purse full of gum! Words cannot express how much she will be missed.

She is survived by her husband; Dick, three children; Melanie Lockhart, Brianna (Clayton) La'ulu, and D.J.

(Emily) Eisenmann, eight grandchildren, six sisters, three brothers and a whole slew of nieces, nephews, in-

laws and friends.

She was greeted in heaven by her parents, one niece and one nephew, and an even bigger slew of

"abandoned" animals! She is once again providing a warm lap for her beloved Great Dane, Diesel.

From Yvonne: If I have accomplished nothing in this life but that my family knows how much I love them…

then it is enough.

Services will be held Friday July 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Jordan 43rd ward, 6695 S. 2200 W. in

West Jordan, UT. There will be no viewing. Interment will follow at West Jordan City Cemetery, 7800 S.

1300 W.

Okay I'm Back.  I'm happy to hear Yvonne Bonzo had a good life, sweet lady that she was.

I like the Duece Coupe stuff from the Beach Boys Paul.  One of my favorites.  While I loved the hot cars and fast women, or was it hot women and fast cars(?) I never afforded myself the comfort of my 69 Jag!!!!! As for the car club Paul, my rusty old corvair would not make the grade.

As for proud to be an American Candida:  for me it was/is the responsibility to do what I can to foster change to make room for everyone to enjoy the fruits of America. In the cause I found many people so obnoxious about what we were doing, most notably Jake Garn.  He still wont shake my hand after all these years.  On the other hand I found so many 4 square behind us and willing to do whatever they could to make it happen. I proudly marched in the US Army green and was prepared to fight and die for the USA but when I got home it was time to march in the streets again for the cause.  I feel it is not our pleasure or our right to question our leadership, it is our responsibility.
