Char, Sorry to hear about your sister, so tough to lose a sibling. Reminds us all of our mortality! I hope you have wonderful memories to get you through. Heartfelt sympathy! Tony

I am so sorry, Char. Was she younger or older?
Life is a roller coaster. May you find peace in the fun memories you shared.

My sister, Judy, was older than me. She had ALS and had been slowly losing her body for at least the last 3 or 4 years. It was a huge relief when she died. Perhaps it was a great Christmas gift.

Charlotte, So sorry to hear about your sister. I only have one sister, and I have to admit that losing her would be harder for me then the loss of my parents. We are so close. Looking back my sister had to stepped in and was given the job to really raise me.  Because my mother was a single mother and she had to work 2 jobs to feed and house us both. I often hear of syblings not talking to each other because of hurt feelings, jealously,or something so trivial. (money).  And that is so sad!! And at our ages (not to old yet) smiley  this is probably going to be more common then not!  Hopefully because of yours and others in our class with these tender losses. Now is a good time for all of us to try to mend any differences we have with our syblings and or close ones. And remember the things that bonded you together in the past. And try and reflect on the fun and good times we had with them. Again our prayers are with you and your family with the loss of your sister!! May she Rest in Peace!!!

Totally agree with your message, Koji.  I have been blessed to have good family relationships, but breaks my heart when I hear of others that haven't talked to each other in years.  I also am the only survivor of my family now.  I truly miss them all.  I could choose to be depressed about it, but know they would all want me to live a happy life.  Making that my mission to enjoy every day.  Wishing you all the best in the coming year!

This made me laugh:D my parents had just recently arrived from Norway in 1950 so all of the "known" foods were a mystery to them ;)

Paul, Thanks for that! When I think back to South High, there are too many great memories to list! Great friends, scary moments, funny stuff, really funny stuff, LMAO moments, etc. Sad to see how many great friends are in memoriam. Hoping all of you have a great 2025! Looking forward to seeing you all at the reunion. Best wishes, Tony

Watching the news of the last few days regarding the horrific wildfires in the hills of LA has once again brought me to a realization of the fleeting and transitory nature of life. Although distraught at the sudden loss of beautiful homes and all material possessions, most victims also express profound gratitude that they and their families were able to escape with their lives.

None of us knows when tragedy will strike, either personally or macro scale. But events like those taking place in LA hopefully serve as a reminder of what is of greatest value in life - family and friends. All the rest (I've heard it said) is merely "junk, on the way to the junkyard."

This is awesome, thanks for sharing.

I haven't heard anything lately, several months ago the news in California said that the Great Salt Lake would be dried up this year.

Is that happening?  Is the Great Salt Lake drying up?

I noticed Johnny Mitchell's obituary several days ago. Then the tribune finally decided to do a nice article about him.
