It is interesting to read the comments and the reflections from classmates.  In personal reflection and memory, I certainly wish I had been a different, better person.  However, I will say this, we were not that bad.  Looking around at what happens today, for the most part, our immature and unknowing understanding of life did lead to a fairly harmonious high school life.  As Barnum said, we were not that different that we could have known each other better.  In all, mistakes snd transgressions, is was a good group.

On another note, anyone know where Reg is?  I heard he went to Denver, then to Memphis?  If you know, drop a line. Thanks

Hallelujah! Someone else posted besides me! Thank you, Kenny.

I did manage to track Reg down, when we first started doing this website. We talked for a bit. He seemed to have no interest in high school nostalgia. I told him that I had recurring guilt because he asked me to draw a portrait of MLK from a photo he'd given me back when we were Seniors. I never did get it done. He said he didn't remember, but I still feel guilty about it. As far as tracking him down again this is the best I could do: https://prabook.com/web/reginald.hawkins/1244761     I'm fairly sure it's him.

On another note, both Preston and I have tried to get in contact with Paul Michelsen to no avail. I don't know what's wrong, but he deleted everything off his profile page. Does anyone know what's going on with him?

Thanks, Char.  Reg was a good friend.  I miss him

Brent Barnum

So Ken,do you remember the last time you, me, and Reg were together? August 10,1973 at my wedding, right? But the other time was the night before graduation day, 1970 at Bimbo's (now The Pie Pizzeria). We cut a quarter into thirds and made a pact to meet there exactly 10 years later at the exact hour, to rejoin that coin. I was there on that June evening in 1980 and I ate a pizza by myself.

Should we track down Reg and shoot for June 2030? A dollar short and 60 years later...

WOW!  Brent!  You and Bonnie have been married for 50+ years.  Congratulations.  I have thought about that damn coin.  My parents cleaned out my bedroom and chucked my treasures when I went to the U.  I'm guessing that third of a quarter went with it.  I have wished I could find it.  That sounds like a good goal.

I have been clearing my way through the photographs that I have. Many are just unworthy pictures or of people I no longer rember or places that weren't that spectacular. I filled a couple of trash cans worth.

But I thought I would challenge you with these two. These were taken probably when we were in junior high; at Girl's Camp somewhere up in the Wasatch. They are not great photos. They are Cubbies and I know who they are. I just want to see if any of you recognize them as well. One is still with us, but one has passed on.

I wonder if it isn't Anne and Jan. I only got to know them my senior year. They were fun girls and always kind!

Good guess, Patty, but no, it is not the Wilde twins.

I will give you a hint for one of them:

Bonnie Hale??

Charlotte Warr (Andersen)

Tony, you've got the first name right, but it isn't Bonnie Hale.

There's only a few more Bonnies in our class mate list. If you look at the profile pictures, I don't think she looks all that different in my grainy black and white, taken with a cheap camera photo.

I will give you a hint for the person in the other photo. She is still with us, as far as I know.

It's not that goods and services cost more today, it's that the $ is worth less . . . It's called "inflation" due to the Federal Government borrowing and printing money to pay for its deficit spending.  Our national debt currently at $24.95 trillion (and rising daily) compared to $270 billion debt in 1957. . . sad!!  It's like a big balloon being over inflated.  One day it will "POP".  Let's hope we won't be around to see it.  It won't be pretty. . . sad

Jeff is right.  The deficit is a death nail(s).  My father was a Railroad union Democrat.  So, as I approached voting age, he wasn't excited about me being a Republican.  I mean, I liked their platform better, right?  It took a few decades of someone screaming "where is the beef" for me to realize a platform is not an action.  We need to put aside our cult mentality and vote for results. So, it's best if we quit sending the same scmucks to Washington that don't even have a legitimate platform and send anyone else.  What we are sending isn't working.https://staticweb.usafacts.org/media/images/2023_02_07_SOTU_D.width-1000.format-webp.webpquality-70.webp

I would hope this website does not become a political platform forv Republicans.
I could feeder to past Republican presidents that created huge debts that Democrat presidents came in and balanced the budgets.
let's keep politics and religion off our Cub website please.
