I had pretty much planned on going to the "all year'' reunion, but I picked up RSV from my grandkids, and it has hit me like a brick wall...as I try to keep talking my doctor out of the hospital.  (yeah, I thought RSV was just for babies too!   ...SURPRISE!  It's an 'elderly" problem too.  Although I don't consider myself very elderly, my lungs have been fighting it for nearly 30 years).

I did watch a news clip on the reunion, and glad to hear it turned out great and that they are considering doing it yearly.  I am glad to hear you made it, Jerry!

OBITUARY

James Steve Priskos

NOVEMBER 5, 1951 – OCTOBER 3, 2022
Obituary of James Steve Priskos

Jim Steve Priskos, passed away on October 3, 2022, at the age of 70 surrounded by his loved ones. Jim was born November 5, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Growing up he was always a hard worker, always striving for better. Jim graduated from South High School in 1970, and shortly after that from the University of Utah. In 1975 Jim married the great love of his life Argie Georgelas. Jim and Argie were a match made in heaven, they were the love of each other’s lives, best friends, soul mates, and partners in all they did. Jim and Argie were always together, and recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Along the way the two of them had three sons who Jim thought were the greatest kids on earth.

Always the hard worker, Jim started and ran a successful business with his wife and eventually his 3 sons. He has now left this legacy to them to continue. His most proud legacy though were his 5 beautiful grandchildren whom he loved with his entire heart. He was the best Papou in the world to his grandchildren, and he never missed a performance, sporting event, or activity. Jim loved his grandchildren with his whole heart and by far they were his proudest achievements, they were his pride and joy and could do no wrong.

Jim was an exemplary man. He was kind and generous to all, and a true hero to all of us who knew him.

Jim was a proud life-long member of the Greek Orthodox Church, and through his faith he believed anything was possible.

Jim is preceded in death by his father Steve Priskos, and Father in-law Jim Georgelas. Survived by his best friend and wife Argie. Three sons, Steven (Allison), Jacob, Michael (Lisa). Five grandchildren, Adri, A.J., Gabe, Silas, and Alexis. Mother Vassalie Priskos and Mother in-law Mae Georgelas. Siblings, George (Mary) Priskos, Jana (Nick) De Vita, Rose (Randy) Reidelbach.

Jim was truly one of the best people on earth. He was a devoted and loving husband, a perfect hero of a dad, an amazing Papou to his grandchildren, and a loyal friend to so many. To say we are heartbroken by his passing is an understatement. Life will not be the same without him around.

A viewing will take place on Monday, October 10, from 6-8 with Trisagion service at 7, at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 5335 S. Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah, 84117. Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 11, at 11 a.m., at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E. 500 S., Salt Lake City, Utah, 84102. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Greek Orthodox Church.

We will love you and miss you forever! Go Utes!

May His Memory Be Eternal!

I'm curious. Why has no one said a word about Jim Priskos's passing? I may have said a word or 2 to the guy but I didn't know him at all. It seems like some of you on the football team would have had some comment. surprise

I got to know Jim my Junior and Senior years at South. We quickly became friends mainly because we had classes together. A great guy full of humor, life and always a cheerful mood. I get melancholy these days whenever I read another Cubbie has past from our group, it's so sad. My military career diverted me away from most of you half way through my first year at the U of U and I haven't  seen Jim in many decades. My condolences to all of his family. We have lost a great man and friend who certainly deserves to be remembered..

Char,

Damn, I didn't know about Jim. I had back surgery recently and have been maintaining a low low profile.

I am so sad about Jim that after reading your query I just froze.

Thanks Char for letting us know.

Char,

I didn't really know Jim but recognized him in the obits So sad for his family as 70 is way too young! I would hate for any of our classmates'  passing to go unnoticed because we are all cubbies and our lives matter!
RIP Jim.
