Obviously Jerry, you are confused if you think that I could fit into pants that I wore 40 years ago! Too much funny herbs, smokin sage or whatever those weeds are?! I can't remember anymore. Really nice of you to think that was possible though! I'm lucky if I can fit into pants from three years ago!

I really enjoy reading all your stories, reminiscings and  responses to each other!  Gerd, you and Rory were such great friends. He was a kid I always looked up to (ok, so were you Gerd)!  What a fun class he had at South.  I always brag to my friends about how well we all got along with each other.  Neil Roberts!  I often think anout where some of my Nibley Park friends are and there you are in the Phillipines! What an adventure. Sorry to hear about your sweet wife.    How did we all get so 'mature'? We get some good discounts with that maturity though, don't we?  Continue to have fun you crazy Cubs! I'll still be reading about your lives and reminiscings. You're the best!!!!

He was about 7 foot tall carrying an Easter Basket!  I about jumped out of my skin!!!! Ahh, the good days in Logan, Utah with the Happy Valley Van Club shopping for eight track tapes... Steve Miller Band I think...

Good Evening Everyone ... I am going to take just a quick moment to share something totally off subject ... Reset Merchandising ~ I am currently staffing New Store Set Up's and Remodels to Smiths stores (presently in Saratoga Springs and Farmington).  We will be doing these types of projects year round.  We are announcing several opportunities for some part-time 1099ers to participate in these projects.

If you are tired of being a retiree or maybe wanting to add something new to your daily schedule, or maybe even entertaining an idea for a way to make a few extra dollars and willing to give it a try ... just step into a store remodel or new store set up to put product on the shelves ~ which is basically what a resetter does ... remerchandises the store.  Please let me know if you have interest and availability and I would be glad to share this information.

It's a plus if you have ever worked in grocery stores,  and used a schematic or planogram, but not a necessity.  Most projects start at 7am sharp (sign in at 6:45am) and we go thru the day till 3:30pm; we also have a team that will doing some traveling and doing the "Soup Resets" overnight.  Just a few tidbits of information.  Please give me a call to find out more and if I cannot answer my phone at the time of your call, just leave me a message and I promise that I will get back to you by evening.

(the only tools I keep with me when merchandising are a tape measure and box cutter and I take my step stool; I always wear long pants, closed toe shoes and take a jacket to wear inside with the new store set ups).

My phone number is: 801-875-8733.

Its a fun project and we have a great group with the attitude of having fun while working these projects and doing their best to complete each project to the best of their ability.  Thank you in advance for even considering my announcement.  And I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

Cathy, GOOD to hear from You ! (and everyone else) :-) Anyway, do you have any openings that begin at, say, 11am and end at 11:15am ? Or even 11;45, then break for lunch for 5-6 hours ? Thanks, and Keep Smilin' :-)

Cathy,

My wife really like the idea of me going back to work for some unknown reason...

You know. For years I only shop for our grocery's early in the mornings. I know a lot of the night re-stocking crew too. They are a tight bunch of people that help each other finish their jobs on time each morning. (teamwork)

I sure like seeing your post today.

Cubs helping Cubs, it's all good.

Dear Jerr ... no I apologize ... I do not have those kind of shifts (too funny).  I sign in at 6:45am, start projects with the group at 7am sharp; we have two breaks during the day and usually lunch between 11 and 11:30 and are at a stopping point at 3:30pm ... that's the only shift I have right now LOL

And Paul ... does that mean you are willing to give it a try?  Please let me know ... we have 2000 caseload coming tomorrow and I would love an extra set of hands helping get that on the shelves .

I appreciate you both responding even if you do not want to give it a try.  It's nice to have a place to at least put the opportunity out there.

Well, I am back to work, so have a great evening and we will talk soon.

Warm Regards,

Cathy

The Good Old Days:

I have been looking for the opening theme music of The Kennecott Theather for years.

Hope this video will bring back a lot of memories from old TV shows.

I think I may have some idea of why your wife would like you to get a job, Paul.  This retirement thing is driving me bonkers!!!  I can't go ANYWHERE by myself without the sad 'puppy dog eyes' giving me the look.  I REALLY needed to have him be retired for a year before I took the step to give him a chance to find himself something to keep busy, but this back surgery prevented the plan I had in place.  So, meanwhile, for at least another 2 months I am 'restricted' from my usual tasks around the house and in the garden, and yet although not particularly helpful in those things, he is glued to my side.  He's like taking a 3 yr old to the grocery store (which means since I have my granddaughter week days I have two 3 yr olds to take).  Although before they got into working on my spine the Dr gave me great hopes of returning to work...he has changed his mind now.  HELP!  I would be setting up remodeled stores in a minute...living out of town...if I could!

Paul,

The Kennecott Theater theme music is from the Overture to an opera written by Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Gomes entitled Il Guarany.  The TV program only used the first few measures of the piece, as I recall.

Here is a link that will bring up several performances of that overture.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=il+guarany+overture+

Enjoy!

Wow !

Candida, you're reading me like a book!

My wife has the same problem with me! Like glue!

We can relate.

Get well soon and best wishes.

Randall,

Yes! Thank you so much.

Carlos Gomes - O Guarani, Overture (Il Guarany)

You named that tune in four bars! I just knew there were more than four bars somewhere online.

Thank again

I've also been wondering what happened to Charlotte.....Charlotte, you still out there?

04/29/17 02:50 PM #3216

Charlotte Warr (Andersen)

Yes, I'm still out "here" and I am pissed. I was pissed in September when too many people were piling on me (mostly Gerd) and I'm pissed that it took this long for anyone to wonder what happened to me (among many other things I'm also pissed about). Admit it - this forum has been pretty dull and little used without me. And I am becoming my mother who had no tact when she got older.

(I was sorry to hear about your daughter, Brent.)
