I just saw this video on Facebook and was intrigued. Has anyone seen or played a harp guitar before?

This is the movie that makes me feel old. It seems like it just came out a few years ago. And almost every step of this dance scene makes me laugh and laugh.

Hope you all have enjoyed a marvelous 4th of July Holiday!  I not only enjoyed the Holiday; I have enjoyed reading many of the posts tonight and catching up on some of them.  I do apologize for being hit and miss as I am often missing in action and so I therefore miss so many of your conversations.

It is sad when we lose those we love and I just want to share my condolences Bart and I know I am late doing so, however, I still want to express that I am sorry for your loss.  They have gone on ahead of us and I do know there will come a time when we will all meet again.  Please keep in touch with us on the forum.

I do hope to find out when we can all get together at the Park Gerd ... is that still in the makings and is there anything I can do to help.  I hope it is not the weekend of the 16th of July as I don't want to miss anything and I'll be out of town again  :-(

Look forward to hearing from any or all of you and possibly the Park Gig that Bob mentioned to Gerd.  Let's do it and maybe more than once.

Thank you everyone for sharing such valuable parts of yourselves on this forum, I really felt like I was home for awhile tonight.

Catherine Hampshire (Cathy)

Park update...........

Our moving has taken longer than anticipated.  My thought is to still plan something in late August.  I will reserve a park in Sandy City and announce the location and time.

Nothing formal but bring your own food and drink and we can chat and reminisce.

Stay tuned........

Wow ... that was an incredible live performance by Adele  ... incredible.  Thank you for posting her on our forum !

Looking forward to hearing back on the Park get together and I hope everyone of us can be there.

Have a great evening and again, thank you all for your meaningful posts.  I cannot wait to show my grandchildren the non-electric park Char ... thanks for putting that info out there.  That would be a fun one for all of us to visit, would it not?

Cath

I'm so new to this I didn't know what to do.  But I had to see who else received this. Yesterday I went to my mailbox and opened a large envelope. In it was my  " MEDICARE CARD."    Talk about feeling old.  Anyone else have theirs ???   Reality time, got to get started.

I get something in the mail several times a week from third party companies that have something to do with medicare, but if you read the small print, they always say they are not affiliated with the government. I always thought getting to retirement age would take a lot longer.  I, too, have questions about medicare. I think I recall Jeff Chivers posting some information about it a short while ago. I do have a question for Jeff. When are we supposed to be signing up for medicare? I plan on keeping my current health insurance for about 2 more years, when my husband is planning to officially retire. I have heard you have to sign up at age 65 even if you don't actually use it, or pay more when you get it later. I have no idea what the rules are, as I have not looked into it.

As promised, I have reserved Crescent Park in Sandy City for the South High Class of 70 'get together' for August 20, 2016 from 5:00 until 10:00 pm.

Nothing formal is planned but some wanted to get together more often to simply chat, reminisce and have a good time.  Bring your own food and non-alcoholic drink (see Sandy City restrictions below) and see what happens.  If we don't follow the rules, my taxes in Sandy will go up and Buck will get fired surprise, if he hasn't retired by then.

Crescent Park is located at 11000 So. and 230 East in Sandy, UT.

Any questions, feel free to call me at 801-792-0615.

I too have received a  host of medicare offers, but since my husband was older than me, I recognize my red white and blue card I just received.  My husband had several companies we had tried.  I will look into them.  Since my husband passed away, I haven't paid much attention to updates.  I was the one that figured out which companies he used.

I remember the free meals we got going with my mom. They sure send out a lot of offers. My birthday is in November that's why I probably got my card.

Thanks Julie for chimming in to help.  I've been retired for 6 years and medicare will be cheaper than my current insurance I hope. It just looked strange seeing my name on the medicare card.

Why wife works at IHC and the retirement presentation I went to for all IHC employees and their spouses, they mentioned NOT to sign up for Part A if your spouse is still working at IHC.  Naturally I forgot why.  Something about not being able to contribute to an HSA and that not signing up has no consequences.....which was contrary to another person I spoke to.

This topic aside, do people really want the Federal Government to run our medical industry.  They make doing any business as confusing as hell.  And I'm sure it's not to benefit the common citizenry.

BTW, I read a recent IHC newsletter that stated revenues from the Feds was less than promised.  Combined with the cost to Medicare was now $700B vs. $500B that was projected, why does ANYONE believe the federal government is a solution to our problems.  Obama's own people have said they lied about Obamacare and the Iran nuclear deal, and some people refuse to even listen to Obama's own people tell us how they duped us.  End of rant about the feds and liberals.  smh

My research as a Financial Advisor tells me the Feds will communicate with me 3 minths prior to my 65th birthday and at that time I can also enroll.  I understand that even if I'm not when I enroll taking the benefit it is still wise to enroll in case I need it short order later.  (check me on that).

For those who may need help guys like Jeff Chivers are excellent.
