I served a mission to French Polynesia (Tahiti) 1971-1973. Got a bachelors in Electrical Engineering at the U of U, then got hired by Hewlett Packard Co in Loveland CO. Got a masters in Computer Science at CSU in 1980. Worked for HP for 14 years designing desktop computer hardware, then networking software, then did some small startups and contracting in Denver. Moved to Redmond WA and worked for Microsoft for 6 years, wrote part of the Visual Basic .net compiler. Retired and started coaching chess full time - I teach 10 elementary school chess clubs each week, one became the Elementary School National Champions for K-5th grade. Organized a chess match between an astronaut on the space station and the chess club, lasted over a year, kids won, see http://nwchess.com/articles/events/2008/Earth_vs_Space.htm.
