Comments:

A very helpful counselor at SOUTH somehow managed to get me a scholarship at UTC ( as it was called back then ). Graduated in Computer Sciences and served as President of Sigma Gamma Chi. I very happily served a Mission to Bloody Aust..., er, I mean , that quaint but VERY interesting land called Australia - settled by convicts ( they sure knew where to send me ! ). Had a few tough times, but mostly GREAT times - too many to mention. Returned to UTC and graduated in Electronics. Won the Gold Medal in the Skills Olympics for Radio and TV Repair ( to get even with the TV that shocked me and threw me across the room ! ). Started a business in TV repair and sales, which allowed us to buy a home ( Oh, did I mention "Marriage" in there somewhere? - didn't mean to minimize that which took place in the Salt Lake Temple ! ). Oh, and Grandkids - all 6.5 of them are FANTASTIC ! ( can't they figure out a way to let us have grandkids BEFORE KIds - just to mellow us out first). Back to the home - no, probably didn't qualify for it because of big-buck-income, QUITE the opposite ( Not Daddy Warbucks - more like Daddy PoorBucks ) - probably had more to do with Uncle Bank- President ! Continued to be self-destroyed, I mean self- employed until I accepted a position in the Phone Industry to try and break down the Monopoly of Mountain Bell, which we did. Took a little time off to have 4 WONDERFUL kids ( all girls, except 3 ) and then took up Self employment again in the Real Estate business. Made a fortune, but then lost a fortune and a half - which puts us BEHIND where we started, Dumb and Broke. We now own a couple of car/RV/ATV/Boat dealership which has been fun and very interesting, to say the least! [NOW WE ARE EVEN DUMBER AND BROKER]!!! Yes, not even remotely as successful as my South High Band Buddy, Tony ( yes, Toyota is STILL at the top of the list, despite the recent recalls ) and Mark Miller ( Is he THE Mark Miller, as in Subaru etc. ?). By golly ( it's been so long since anyone has used that word, I'm not sure how to spell it - even with the excellent education gleaned at South ). LOVE living in the Salt Lake Area ( with Lake Powell as our 2nd Home ). Also enjoying being a part of Homeland Security. Loved being Trek-Master at Martin's Cove and helped design it from the very beginning. I just noticed this section is for 'comments', not Life History - thus, I will end. Keep Smilin' ! Any questions ?
Just Added: I don't know who came up with this idea, but MUCHAS GRACIAS, It's GREAT ! I may never sell another Motorhome again - I'm having WAY too much fun on this site viewing profiles and sending mindless comments ( they may be mindless, but VERY heartfelt ! ). Hope more Cubs sign up !

School Story:

I was ( and probably still am, mostly ) a big Dork while attending this great institution. Yes, there were some pretty neat memories, but, as in life generally, The More We Get Involved, especially service-wise, the more we will enjoy and have great memories. I feel I didn't live up to this philosophy. It's been really neat running in to, occasionally, other South High graduates ( Hey, Tom Post, Richard Whiting, Linda Staker, Dave Smith, Curt Shelton, Sue McGhie, Joe Kingston, Jim Kilgore, Tony Divino, Christine Coleman, Ray Alt, Doug Haaga, etc. etc.) One, who I really didn't know that well, at the time , turned out to be a very good friend - and one that helped very much with the good times in real estate ( Lon, do you remember going back and forth on all those REPC's ? ) and in personal life ( Do you also remember almost drowning at Deer Creek ? ). As mentioned, his name is Lon Scow. Many other great friendships were renewed or formed here : DEBBIE L., Kerri O., Dennis P., Ray A., Vickie H., Delores J., Michael L., Sherry L.,..... AH OH, Having listed over 150 names and realizing I was just getting started and would soon use up my 8,000 character allotment, I , sadly, return to the beginning. Suffice it to say, I have just spent hours going thru' those priceless yearbooks and remember with much fondness and love, many, many of you - some I have known even since Kindergarten - I think of many of you all the time and hope to see you at some future re-union ( here or there ). This includes many of the adult teachers and staff. Keep Smilin' ! Jerry P.S. I just noticed that there is a provision for any of you to leave a comment - PLEASE DO ! I would LOVE to hear from you !!

After we all get our shots, if we are going to get the shot, I was hopeful that you and some other cubs might be interested to meet at my home for a "debriefing" from you about your 4 years of working in the White House. Possibly mix it up with some of my God, ancient astronauts, 30 foot skeletons of giants from before the flood and after. Lots of neat stuff I've been blessed to have had the time to explore where others couldn't because they had to work. Let me know. rbs@microtouchslc.com

Jerald, I sent you a private post with my contact info, is your email here an active account? I would love to spend sometime learning more about your exciting 4 year experience. Get back to me if you have the time and desire. By the way, you'd be surprised at how many would support you but have turned away from here because of a few pretty stiff necked zealots.
