I just recently found out that Jerry died on July 1st 1990, from a caring South friend, that new Jerry's cousin.
Jerry and I were engaged for two years while in high school. We broke off our engagement our senior year but remained friends for many years after.
They say people will forget the the things you say and do but, they'll never forget the way you made them feel. I know I'll never forget the way Jerry made me feel... LOVED, AND HAPPY! I have never laughed as much with anyone else. Jerry had a remarkable sense of humor. He could make the most trivial things funny and crazy. We were walking one summer, from my house to Mike Thomas'. Two little boys jumped out at us and shot Jerry with their plastic guns. Jerry grabbed his chest and fell on the lawn. The kids started laughing and ran right up to him. Jerry started tickling them. That was Jerry you never knew what he'd do next but. it was usually amusing.
Jerry was far from the most popular guy at South but to those that didn't get to know him, you don't know what you missed. For the rest of us, I'm sure he'll never be forgotten. He made some boring classes a lot more fun. I know I'll never forget him, his goofy antics or the way he made me feel. Goodbye Jerry I'm sorry I wasn't there for you at the end.
