I have been neglecting posts for a while.

My daughter and her family live on Oahu in Hawaii. The first time my husband and I went to visit was an all right vacation, but I am not a big fan of humidity.

The second time we went was during the Covid epidemic. We had been there just a day or two and my son-inl-law caught it, passed it on to my husband, then I caught it and then my daughter caught it. My 2 grandsons had been handed off to their other grandparents at the first sign of Covid so they missed it. We were staying at a fairly uncomfortable Air B&B and had to isolate. That was the worst vacation ever.

My daughter and son-in-law finally completed the addition to their house, so we have a place to stay. This last time we left for Hawaii on March 13th and arrived midday. That day my daughter's rain gauge recorded 14 inches of rain fall. We were there for 11 days and it rained every one of them except for the day we left. No going to the beach, no getting a tan, the humidity was through the roof, and the mosquitos feasted on me. My son-in-law's parents live in Hailewa on the North Shore of Hawaii. They had to evacuate. Fortunately, their house didn't get flooded out, but the water did come up to their floorboards. Second worst vacation ever (though spending time with family was nice). The only good thing I have to show for  the trip is my pictures (taken while driving through the rain) of the temporary waterfalls that you see coming out of the tunnel from Honolulu to Kailua. There were dozens of them. I understand they are a rare sight.

Char, Sounds like it may be super beneficial to your fellow cubbies to warn all of us on where you are going next!! Times, dates, etc. so that we may plan accordingly! devil Tony

It is interesting to listen to these golden oldies for us.  A moment in our life's journey.   I wonder what comparisons our children or grandchildren might make in their memorable songs.  What genre?  Are there new generational songs of war like the ones you posted?  Or is it Rap?

Well, this is certainly the most recent one I can think of:

Bruce Springsteen is 76. I wonder how many Gen Z follow him?

It looks like you can find a lot of it. Did you watch Bad Bunny do his halftime show at the Super Bowl?

Looking back to our last year of South, Barnum asked me to write and editorial for the paper.  For me, the topic was Vietnam.  What started as one editorial turned into a tit for tat with the ROTC at the school.  Each of us sharing a week.  At the time, I really do not remember that many Cubs either for or against the Vietnam war.  Certainly, none of the males were excited about the draft.  It wasn't until I went to the U that the songs seemed to have a greater meaning.  The similarities do exist today.  The public turned against the Vietnam War as the public is turning against the Iran War.  Maybe not in Utah, Nationally.
